Maybe everybody knows about the network card. For those not, a network card is an important component for a Computer Techie’s Soul. Without it, you can’t browse the internet or even chat with other people through the web. It allows you to connect to other computers either locally or over the internet.
The different network types use different hardware, but they all have the same essential components:
a. More than one computer
b. Hardware (such as a router) and software (either built in to the operating system or as a separate application) to coordinate the exchange of information
c. A path for the information to follow from one computer to another
Then there’s the firewall. The firewall is a part of a computer system or a network that is built to block unwanted or unauthorized access while letting the authorized access pass through.
And then you wonder, what is I.P. that I see in my network? I.P. stands for Internet Protocol which is a protocol used for communicating data across a packet-switched internet work using the Internet Protocol Suite, also referred to as TCP/IP.
There are two kinds of internet networks available. The first one is the Wired Network which has a set of advantages and disadvantages. The advantages are listed below:
a. Lets you move or transfer lots of data very quickly thus making it faster than the wireless network.
b. Provides more security and privacy.
c. It is affordable.
but the disadvantages also toll up, below are some of it :
a. Greatly decreases or limits your mobility
b. Increasing the number of computers using greatly slows down the network and increasingly needs more cable thus making it costly.
c. and lastly, if you increase your network cables in your home, you may see them running around from one place to another, making it an unlikely sight on your home.
The second network is the Wireless Network. It is a least expensive way to connect to the internet stating the facts that it uses Radio Waves than a wire. Like the Wired Network, it has an advantage and a disadvantage. Below is one advantage :
a. It lets you move from one place to another because there are no mobility-restricting wires connected to the computer.
But with every advantage, there is an equal disadvantage :
a. It is literally more slower than the wired network and
b. It is less secure unless you make some security measures such as placing a password.
